Career Central Electronic Job BoardSponsored by the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign This web-based Job Board is available free-of-charge for employers of librarians and information specialists to help meet their organizational recruitment needs as quickly as possible. The University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science is recognized as a premier institution, ranked number one among U.S. LIS schools and boasts a multi-disciplinary and nationally renowned faculty. GSLIS students come from all over the U.S. and the world and study on campus as well as through our award-winning online education program, called LEEP . The Career Central e-Board is also open at no cost to all students and alumni of this world-class library and information science (LIS) graduate program, to help them conveniently find LIS positions and/or to be recruited by employers seeking qualified applicants. Jobs are arranged by expiration date, so you will find those positions with the shortest remaining application periods at the top of the list and those with the longest application time periods at the bottom of the list. The date that the vacancy was posted is located at the end of the entry. Employers, after registration, may retain their accounts, edit or review registration information, update or repost vacancies, edit vacancies, post new positions, and search student and alumni resumes. Employer registration here Employer tips on posting positions: Employers, please note that the job posting expiration automatically defaults to 30 days but you can extend this expiration period to meet your specific needs. Also, unless you are posting an upper-level position, please select both "Students" and "Alumni" because most of the students registered on the eBoard are near graduation and are seeking a position. Students and Alumni, after registration, may search jobs, upload a resume, and then choose whether they want employers to search their resume. Students may also search for national jobs posted to College Central Network. Students and Alumni register here Student/Alumni tips on registering: First, you need to type in the School's name: "University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science." If you forget the exact format, you can click on the link to the left, "Your School," and at "School Name (contains), type in "library." This will bring you to the correct name and back to the registration logon. Next, the registration form requests an access "ID." This is for you to determine and current students might want to use their netid.
