Application Deadlines
Preference is given to complete applications meeting the deadlines; however, we will accept applications as long as space is available.
Master of Science Program
Students usually enter the master’s program in the fall semester. LEEP students enter the program in the summer. The deadlines by which all application materials (including transcripts and letters of reference) must be received are:
December 1
M.S. applicants for fall and summer on-campus enrollment.February 1
Application deadline for LEEP admission is February 1 for first consideration. Applications will be accepted until the program is full.October 15
M.S. applicants for spring on-campus enrollment. Notification of admission will be e-mailed by late November.
K-12 Library Information Specialist Certification Program
Students interested in earning an Illinois Type 10 (Special) K-12 Teaching Certificate may apply to the K-12 LIS Certification program after 8 hours of LIS coursework at GSLIS are completed. Deadlines for application for either M.S. or C.A.S. students are October 1 (formerly October 15) for spring semester acceptance or February 15 (formerly January 15) for fall or summer semester acceptance.
Certificate of Advanced Study (C.A.S.) Program
C.A.S. students may enter the program in summer, fall, or spring semesters. Applications are due March 15 (summer); June 15 (fall); and November 15 (spring).
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Program
Ph.D. students are admitted in the fall semester. All Ph.D. applicants, including those who wish to receive financial aid, must submit their application no later than December 15.
