Alumna to appear on 'Jeopardy'

GSLIS alumna Ana Peso (MS ’07), a librarian at Glenbrook North High School, will appear on the December 31 episode of the popular game show "Jeopardy." The episode will air in Champaign, Illinois, at 4:30 p.m. on WAND-TV.

Peso took Jeopardy’s online timed test twice before receiving an invitation to appear on the show. An avid reader throughout her life, she prepared by brushing up on subjects such as history and geography. Peso shared her excitement with students as well as family and friends:

When students at school ask her how they can prepare for the show, she tells them to read everything they can, and to stay informed. She also suggests practicing with a buzzer to simulate the format of the show.
"I got to meet Alex Trebec," she said, "and that's not something a lot of people would say. He's very nice. I think it's a great experience, and if anyone gets a chance to get on, I'd recommend it. It's totally worth it."
