Please join us for the seventh annual eChicago on April 26 and 27 at the University of Illinois at Chicago. eChicago is a place where people share what is happening and what could happen to make Chicago not only a digital city, but a more democratic one. Our goal is digital equality, and we connect people who don’t find each other easily in their daily lives: all kinds of librarians with community workers and volunteers; students with professionals; social workers with library people; campus with community; government with grassroots. Sessions will include insider summaries of statewide BTOP broadband projects and exploration of local wiki websites as an action plan for putting broadband to work.
This year's event will feature two plenary speakers as well as numerous exciting breakout sessions for closer discussion. The two plenaries are:

Michelle Frisque is director of library technology for Chicago Public Library. She will engage in discussion with the chair and the audience.Presentation and Q & A with Mark Ansboury, Gigabit Squared
Saturday morning, April 27
Mark Ansboury is president, CEO, and founder of Gigabit Squared, which is starting a multi-million-dollar project with the University of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the City of Chicago to build fiber-to-the-home in areas around the University in Hyde Park, Kenwood, Washington Park, and Woodlawn.
Online registration is open and recommended. The conference is free to all, but space is limited.
