XiaoXiong Xu Joins GSLIS as New Scholar-in-ResidenceSeptember 29, 2009Dr. XiaoXiong Xu will spend six months at GSLIS as a new Scholar-in-Residence. He is an associate professor at the College of Teacher Education at Ningbo University, China. He earned a Ph.D. from the College of Educational Information Technology at South China Normal University. His visit is sponsored by the K.C.Wong Education Foundation. Xu has taught courses in the areas of instructional system design, learning science, and technology. His current research focuses on youth community informatics and new media and inquiry-based learning. "Dr. Xu brings a background in innovative uses of information and communication technologies. We look forward to his contributions to GSLIS work in teaching online, community informatics, studies of learning, and youth services involving new technologies," said GSLIS Professor Chip Bruce. |
