Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books Welcomes New Assistant EditorAugust 24, 2009Kate Quealy-Gainer (MS '09) has joined the staff of the Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books as the new assistant editor. A recent GSLIS graduate, Quealy-Gainer has always had a strong interest in childrens' and young adult literature. This interest led her to GSLIS where, while earning her degree in youth literature and public librarianship, she was a graduate assistant in the Center for Children's Books. "Kate has been a talented reviewer for us already, and I'm thrilled that we'll be able to make use of her administrative gifts as well as her writing," said Bulletin editor Deborah Stevenson. "I am very excited to be able to stay on at GSLIS. As a student, it was fun to watch and participate in Bulletin meetings and now I am looking forward to working with Deborah in a professional capacity," said Quealy-Gainer. The Bulletin, founded in 1945, is one of the nation's leading children's book review journals for school and public librarians. |
