New PLG Officers
The Student Group Officer Space (Officers) on Moodlefrom Ata Bird (-atalece, at gmail.com-):Why we have this space: In order to encourage collaboration among student organizations and units and to facilitate planning. Who this space is for: Everyone! While this space says officers on it and certainly those who end up in officer positions are highly encouraged to use this space, it really is for everyone. Event planning in organizations doesn’t stop with the executive board. Committee chairs, members with ideas, and anyone who is curious or wants to become in involved in some way is someone that should use the Officers Moodle space. What the space has: The space has resources and information on event planning, forums, and a wiki. It is also a flexible space, which means that if you think something about the space could be better, let me know. As we start this new school year, I would also like to think that we can use this resource in multiple ways. Lately, I have been thinking about collaboration and communication a great deal. I think that those things are important in planning, and I also think that they are important in working in libraries as well. I did a practicum this summer in a public library and I noticed a lot of collaboration between libraries in that library and also between the libraries and others in the community. Of course this involved communication, and it also involved networking too. Maybe we can work on all of these skills together, over the course of this academic year. Currently it appears that in order to join the Officers Moodle space, you need to be added to it. I will address this, but in the meantime if you want to access Officers just email me at -atalece, at gmail.com- and tell me your first and last name in that email so I can add you. In most cases I will reply that I have added you within 24 hours. If you have any questions or comments don’t hesitate to contact me at -atalece, at gmail.com-. To find this space in Moodle click on "All Courses" under the "My Courses" section on the right hand side of your Home Page when you are logged in. Then click on Student Groups from Course Categories. Then click on Student Group Officer Space. What is a "Progressive Librarian"?
