Community Credit/Non-degree StudentsGSLIS, in cooperation with the Office of Continuing Education, is pleased to be able to offer non-degree students an opportunity to take graduate level courses via the Academic Outreach Community Credit Program. Formal admission to the University is not necessary, but a bachelor's degree is required. Community credit students may take a maximum of 12 credit hours of GSLIS coursework. Permission to take additional credit hours may be granted in special circumstances (e.g., alums seeking professional development, school media endorsement), but please note that a maximum of 12 hours may be applied toward a degree upon matriculation. UPDATE - November 9, 2009: The list of spring 2010 courses with seats open to community credit students is now available. If you are interested in taking a course, please submit a Request to Enroll in GSLIS Courses form. Deadline for submitting a Request to Enroll is January 5, 2010. NEW COMMUNITY CREDIT STUDENTS: If you have misplaced your approval email, please review important information about taking a course at GSLIS as a community credit student. Tuition for academic year 2009-2010 is $1,020 for a two credit hour course and $2,040 for a four credit hour course. Note: If you're paying for a class out of your own pocket, don't forget to make use of the Lifelong Learning Tax Credit when you do your income tax at the end of the year. It allows you to take a tax credit for a portion of any money you spend on continuing education.
