Project Bamboo aims to create research environments for humanities scholars. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will support the Bamboo Phase I Technology Project by:
1. Implementing Proxied Software Environment for the Advancement of Scholarly Research Services (SEASR ) Analytics as a Scholarly Service on the Bamboo Services Platform. This will entail modifying existing SEASR tools and services to interoperate with the Bamboo Services Platform. This work will help inform the development of the platform.
2. Leading, in collaboration with Northwestern University, the Collections Interoperability Area of Phase I work. This work will focus on: the identification of suitable standards, protocols, and best practices; the development of Bamboo-specific profiles of identified standards; and limited experimentation with select digital collections & content to refine selection and profiling process and demonstrate potential to satisfy selected interoperability scenarios. This work will be done in consultation and collaboration with other institutional members of Bamboo and will inform the Workspace, Corpora Space, and Services Platform tasks.
