Kevin Trainor, Senior Lecturer

The iSchool is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Trainor as a senior lecturer, effective August 16. He has served as an adjunct senior lecturer at the School since 2008 and as assistant director of the Center for Informatics Research in Science and Scholarship (CIRSS) from 2009 to 2011. In addition to teaching at the iSchool, he has taught full-time as a senior lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Information Studies.

Trainor teaches courses in systems analysis and design, programming and system development, database design and implementation, Web development, and project management. In the fall, he will be teaching Foundations of Information Processing (IS 430) and Database Design and Prototyping (IS 455).

"Teaching as an adjunct has helped me get to know the students," Trainor said. "I like their excitement best. They are excited about what they are learning in their programs, about their current and future careers. It is contagious."

Trainor holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a BA in philosophy from Rutgers University.

"The iSchool attracts the best students, faculty, and staff. It is a highly stimulating and exciting place to work. I enjoy being part of this team," he said.
