iSchool researchers to present at CHI 2021

iSchool faculty and students will present their research at the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI 2021), which will be held virtually from May 8-13. The conference, considered the most prestigious in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, attracts researchers and practitioners from around the globe. The theme for CHI 2021 is "Making Waves, Combining Strengths."

• PhD student Si Chen will present the paper, "Exploring the Complementary Features of Audio and Text Notes for Video-based Learning in Mobile Settings," which she coauthored with Assistant Professor Yun Huang and Dennis Wang (University of California, Irvine).
• Informatics PhD student Ke-Rou Wang will present the paper, "Exploring Commenting Behavior in the COVID-19 Super-Topic on Weibo,” which she coauthored with Huang, Yixin Chen (Peking University), and Weikai Xu (Computer Science, Illinois).
• Huang is a coauthor on the paper, "Enhancing the Perceived Emotional Intelligence of Conversational Agents through Acoustic Cues," with Tsinghua University researchers Jiaxiong Hu, Xiaozhu Hu, and Yingqing Xu, and will chair the session, "Smart Home, Bot, Robot, & Drone/Input & Measurement."
• Assistant Professor Nigel Bosch will present the paper, "Students' Verbalized Metacognition during Computerized Learning," which he coauthored with Luc Paquette and Yingbin Zhang (Education, Illinois), Ryan Baker (University of Pennsylvania), Jaclyn Ocumpaugh (University of Pennsylvania), and Gautam Biswas (Vanderbilt University).
