GSLIS publishes an annual magazine and newsletter, which include feature stories and a variety of news items pertaining to the School, faculty, students, and alumni. The GSLIS Annual Report serves as the formal annual record of information about GSLIS and is mailed to alumni, donors, and other friends. Both publications are managed by "Kim Schmidt"-kimsch, at illinois.edu-, director of publications and media relations.

The GSLIS eUpdate, published every other month, summarizes current news, events, alumni highlights, and continuing professional development opportunities. The eUpdate is e-mailed to friends of GSLIS and all alumni who have e-mail addresses on record with the University of Illinois Alumni Association. It is managed by "Cindy Ashwill"-cashwill, at illinois.edu-, assistant dean for communications.
